Data Retention & Deletion Disclosure

1Signed-Out Use — Local Device Data Only

Users who do not create accounts have no deal data in the cloud. All saved data is stored in your browser's IndexedDB, localStorage, and CacheStorage on your device.

• IndexedDB / localStorage (deal records, preferences): persists until you clear browser data, clear site data, or uninstall the browser/PWA.
• CacheStorage (App shell): updated automatically when a new App version is deployed; old cache is deleted by the service worker.

We have no access to this local data and cannot delete it remotely. You control it entirely.

2Signed-In Users — Cloud Data

Accounts are free and optional. When you are signed in, your saved deal records are synced to Firestore and retained for the life of your account. We do not automatically purge data based on inactivity. Your device remains the primary store; Firestore is a backup and sync layer.

No paid subscriptions are currently offered, so there is no subscription-lapse deletion clock. If paid tiers are introduced, any retention rules tied to subscription status will be stated in the Subscription & Billing Terms and reflected here before they take effect.

What Signing Out Does (and Does Not) Do

Signing out does NOT delete your cloud data. Your Firestore records remain intact. The Firestore offline cache (IndexedDB) is not wiped on sign-out — the Firebase SDK leaves its local cache in place until you clear site data, and your device also keeps its own copy of your deals in the App's IndexedDB. Your cloud data is available again when you sign back in.

3Account Deletion

When you delete your account:

• Your Firebase Authentication account is permanently deleted.
• All Firestore deal records under your account are permanently deleted. There is no grace period after an account deletion request; deletion is processed promptly.
• Local data on your devices (IndexedDB / localStorage) is not affected and must be cleared manually if desired.

To delete your account: contact admin@housatonicholdings.com from your registered email address. Before deleting, export your deal data using the export feature.

4Deleting Individual Records

You can delete individual deal records at any time within the App; deletion takes effect immediately on your device, and for signed-in users the record's cloud copy is deleted as well (queued and completed automatically if you are offline at the time). To remove all cloud data at once, request account deletion via admin@housatonicholdings.com. Deleted records cannot be recovered.

5Operational Backups

Firebase/Google may maintain infrastructure-level backups for disaster recovery. These are not user-accessible and are subject to Google's retention policies. If you request deletion of your account or records, we will process that deletion in live data; infrastructure backups may persist for a limited additional period per Google's policies before being overwritten.

6Share Links, Server Caches & Usage Metrics

Three categories of data live on our server:

• Share links: when you create a short share link, the deal payload you chose to share is stored on our server until the link expires (by default about 90 days) or you revoke it. See the Sharing Disclosure.
• Analysis caches: analysis results and upstream data are cached keyed by address or geography (roughly 24 hours for composite results, up to about 30 days per data source). These caches contain property and geography data, not user identities.
• Anonymous usage metrics: per-UTC-day aggregate counts (feature events, US-state market counts, our own paid-API call count) plus fixed-size cardinality sketches used to estimate distinct users and networks. No user IDs, addresses, or IP addresses are stored. These daily rows are kept indefinitely; because they are aggregate counts and sketches, they contain nothing attributable to you to delete.

7Billing Records

No paid subscriptions are currently offered, so we hold no billing or payment records. If paid tiers are introduced, retention of billing records will be described here and in the Subscription & Billing Terms before launch.
