1Overview

These Subscription & Billing Terms ("Billing Terms") govern the purchase of Paid and Premium subscriptions to RentalMath. They supplement and are incorporated into the Terms of Use. In the event of a conflict, these Billing Terms control with respect to billing matters.

Free-tier users are not subject to these Billing Terms except as they may later upgrade to a paid tier.

2Subscription Tiers and Pricing

RentalMath currently offers:

  • Paid Tier: approximately $5–10 per month (or an equivalent annual rate). Includes unlimited saved properties with Firestore cloud sync, multi-device access, property comparison, and PDF/CSV export.
  • Premium Tier: approximately $15–20 per month (or an equivalent annual rate). Includes everything in Paid, plus AI-powered rent estimates and deal scoring, mortgage amortization schedules, portfolio-level analytics, and collaboration/sharing features.

Prices are displayed at checkout and may be updated with at least 30 days' notice to current subscribers before their next renewal. The price you are charged is the price confirmed at the time of your purchase or most recent renewal notice.

3Payment Processor

All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Your full payment card details are transmitted directly to and stored by Stripe; Housatonic Holdings does not store or have access to your complete card number, CVV, or expiry date.

By providing a payment method, you authorize Housatonic Holdings (via Stripe) to charge that payment method for your subscription on a recurring basis until you cancel.

4Billing Cycle and Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual cycle beginning on the date of your initial purchase (the "Billing Date").

Auto-renewal is ON by default. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period and your payment method will be charged unless you cancel before renewal.

You will not receive a separate renewal reminder for monthly subscriptions. For annual subscriptions, we will send a renewal reminder to your registered email address at least 7 days before your annual renewal date.

If a charge fails (e.g., expired card), Stripe will retry the charge according to its standard retry schedule. We will attempt to notify you by email. If payment is not resolved within a reasonable period, your subscription may be downgraded to the free tier and the 30-day data grace period will begin.

5Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings in the App or by contacting us at admin@housatonicholdings.com.

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period. You will retain access to paid features until that date.
  • Cancellation does not trigger a refund for any unused portion of the current billing period.
  • After the billing period ends, your account is downgraded to the free tier. The 30-day grace period for cloud data begins at that point. See Section 7 and the Data Retention & Deletion Disclosure.
  • Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account. To delete your account and all associated data, you must separately request account deletion.

We make cancellation easy and do not require you to call, chat with an agent, or navigate unnecessary steps. If you have difficulty cancelling, contact admin@housatonicholdings.com and we will cancel your subscription within one business day.

6No Refunds

ALL SUBSCRIPTION PAYMENTS ARE FINAL. NO REFUNDS ARE ISSUED. This includes partial-month and partial-year amounts upon cancellation.

We do not offer refunds, credits, or pro-rated amounts for:

  • Cancellations mid-billing period.
  • Periods of non-use or reduced use.
  • Downgrades from a higher tier.
  • Account terminations due to Terms of Use violations.

We offer easy, no-friction cancellation so you can stop future charges at any time. If you are unsatisfied with the App, please cancel before your next renewal date to avoid being charged.

Exception: If a duplicate charge or billing error has occurred due to a technical fault on our end or Stripe's, contact us at admin@housatonicholdings.com within 30 days and we will investigate and correct confirmed errors.

CHARGEBACK NOTICE: Filing a chargeback with your card issuer for a legitimate subscription charge is a violation of these Billing Terms and may result in immediate account suspension and referral to Stripe's fraud monitoring. If you have a billing concern, contact us first at admin@housatonicholdings.com and we will respond within one business day.

7Subscription Lapse and Cloud Data Grace Period

When a paid subscription ends for any reason (cancellation, failed payment, or account downgrade), the following applies to your cloud-stored deal data:

IMPORTANT: After your subscription ends, you have 30 days to export or re-subscribe before your Firestore cloud data is permanently deleted. This deletion is IRREVERSIBLE. We cannot recover deleted data.
  • Day 0 (subscription end): Account is downgraded to free tier. Cloud sync is disabled. Your data remains in Firestore and is accessible for export.
  • Days 1–29: You can re-subscribe at any time to restore full access and halt the deletion clock.
  • Day 30: Cloud data (all Firestore deal records) is permanently and irreversibly deleted.

We will send reminder emails to your registered address at the time of subscription lapse and approximately 7 days before the deletion date. It is your responsibility to ensure your registered email address is current and that our emails are not filtered to spam.

We strongly recommend exporting your data using the App's export features before cancelling or if your payment fails. Free-tier local data (up to 5 properties in localStorage) is not affected by subscription lapse.

8Upgrades and Downgrades

You may upgrade from Paid to Premium at any time. The upgrade takes effect immediately and you will be charged a pro-rated amount for the remainder of the current billing period, with the new rate applying at the next renewal.

You may downgrade from Premium to Paid at any time. The downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain Premium features until then.

Downgrading to the free tier (cancelling) is governed by Sections 5 and 7 of these Billing Terms.

9Free Trial (If Offered)

We may from time to time offer a free trial period for paid tiers. If a free trial is offered, trial terms (length, eligible users, conversion) will be stated at the point of sign-up. At the end of the trial, your payment method will be charged the applicable subscription rate unless you cancel before the trial ends. These Billing Terms apply to subscriptions that begin following a free trial.

10Taxes

Prices displayed do not include applicable taxes unless stated. You are responsible for all applicable taxes, including sales tax, VAT, or GST, where required by law. Stripe may collect and remit applicable taxes automatically based on your billing address and applicable law.

11Changes to Pricing

We may change subscription prices at any time. For existing subscribers, price changes take effect at the next renewal following at least 30 days' written notice to your registered email address. Continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel before the effective date.
